Easter Sun Rise Catapult Project
What is the project, and what is our brainstorming?
ββββFor our project for our ENGN108 class, we were split into groups of four an wead work together to build a catapult. For this catapult, we can only use the mechanical that we were offered, and we had to test them on speed, distance, and accuracy. For our brainstorm, our group decided to choose our base to be 12X12X12, and our whole base and arm will be made out of wood from our wood sheet. To hold our ping pong ball, we will use a condiment cup, and it will be mounted on top of a thumb rest.

Prototype
Our prototype went well, but what we wanted. We notice that we need to add a floor for our catapult. We also notice that we need to fix our rubber bands and try to find a new place to add them to make the catapult work better. And we're going to ditch the spoon and use the condiment cup.

Inkscape and cut
Our Inkscape and the cutout are probably my favorite parts of the project because you get to see your ideas and your drawing comes to life. The only thing that changed was our floor, and we added our thumb rest. The cutting went really well, and all of our pieces came out just how we wanted. And our logo came out perfect.

Assembling
Assembling our catapult was not as easy as we thought. We found out that the two walls that connect to the catapult's floor were too big, so we had to use a lot of glue to connect them. And we also noticed that our arm was too long to go all the way around, so we had to sand down the button on the arm to make it fit flush.
