This course introduces students to engineering and engineering technology disciplines while building foundational technical, professional, and teamwork skills. Students work in interdisciplinary teams on hands-on projects using the Engineering Design Process, including problem-solving, prototyping, testing, and data analysis.
The course also emphasizes information literacy, teaching students how to find, evaluate, and ethically use information while recognizing misinformation. Students develop communication, project management, and critical thinking skills through written, oral, and graphical presentations of engineering work.
By the end of the course, students can apply the engineering design process, analyze and present data, evaluate information sources, and understand the roles and impact of different engineering disciplines.
